A selection of drawings by Queens, New York-based artist and illustrator Julian Adon Alexander. Dedicated to capturing people and places in candid, honest moments, Alexander intends for his work to be relatable to the constant flux of human emotion. In his recent work, he explores the theme of vulnerability, considering what it looks like visually to “lay your insecurities bare, or to bundle up and hide the physical and emotional body from the world.” The imagery and environments in his drawings are mostly informed by his memories of the people, places, and things he saw growing up between Bloomfield, Connecticut and Brooklyn, New York. “All of these images, in some way or another, feel like home,” he says.
