A selection of images by Romanian interdisciplinary artist Alina Negoita. Based in London, Negoita’s practice vacillates between visual arts and creative direction, politics and poetry, the academic and the experiential. Her work addresses what she describes as “the politics of truth, form, human connection, identity, and social atmospheres,” while questioning conventional attitudes toward the female gaze and reckoning with her own identity as both a Romanian immigrant and a woman. Growing up as part of a first post-USSR generation, her research is influenced by the past, and her vision for the future. She combines many mediums to tell the stories of her subjects, striving to connect the personal with the universal.
