London-based photographer Hayleigh Longman has been interested in people and their stories for as long as she can remember. Growing up, she spent a lot of time with her grandad on the weekends. “We would be in the pub a lot, which is where I was given my first 35mm camera and I used to take pictures of everyone just for fun and it turned into something I was really passionate about,” she explains. Drawn to photography’s ability to open conversations, and the opportunity to collect stories, Longman works with subjects of a “sensitive personal nature”—both people and objects—considering elements of play and performance within human existence.
