Luis Corzo is a Guatemalan artist currently based in Brooklyn, New York. Working primarily with photography, although occasionally video and mixed media as well, his practice explores what he describes as “the obscurities of human activity and the space in which we inhabit.”
Corzo is currently wrapping up his latest project, “PASACO, 1996,” which revisits a kidnapping that he and his father lived through in Guatemala back in 1996. Confronting themes of violence, corruption, capital punishment, and criminal rehabilitation, the work invites conversation surrounding the story of his experience.
