Born in Canada and raised in Haiti, photographer Philip-Daniel Ducasse is currently based in Brooklyn, New York. Drawn to photographing those who are traditionally underrepresented, including immigrants like himself, Ducasse aims to provide a platform upon which to celebrate the cultures and talents of his subjects. His two great passions—traveling and photography—allow us to see the world through his eyes and unique perspective. Still excited about what he describes as “the power and magic of photography,” Ducasse explains his process as both a form of self-expression and meditation, allowing him a window into his subjects’ lives and—most importantly to him—joy and love for humanity.
