Born in California and raised in Texas and Virginia, photographer DeSean McClinton-Holland is currently based in Brooklyn, NY. After the death of his mother in 2012, he took the advice of a friend and left his Bay Area job as a video producer to pursue a career in photography. “It was newfound freedom that allowed me to explore the world around me, to capture the beauty of my family, of my community and my relationship with both,” McClinton-Holland explains.

“Photography has been an emotional and cathartic journey, helping me to make new connections, create new memories, and to better understand who I am. My hope is that the viewer feels those connections and that it evokes emotions and/or memories to help bring them healing as well.”
