A selection of work by Chicago-based illustrator Jo Minor. While occasionally dabbling in comics, no matter what Minor’s working on his main focus is experimentation. For him, constantly changing his approach is what makes art “fun and therapeutic,” as he continues:
“I like to make art that might be called “Op Art” in that I’m interested in the illusory potential of image making and I try to push that in whatever way I can when I’m making stuff. It might be funny to say that because 1) most of what I make doesn’t include lines overlapping and trippy patterning like “traditional” Op Art and 2) all visual art is necessarily optical so it seems like “Op Art” may actually not mean anything significant.”
