A lovely collection of drawings and writings by artist Christina Mrozik (previously featured here). Created while moving through a year of depression, Mrozik tackles the essentials of what it is to be human and to hurt. Her faceless drawings merge pieces of organ with natural elements in an effort to express feelings of inaccessibility and experiences inarticulable through language. Speaking as “one who wrestles in the dark and stares down pain in a fierce attempt to heal,” Mrozik explains the significance of bringing her work together in this way:
“Releasing this collection as a book creates a physical reminder both of the reality of a difficult circumstance, and the community moving through the common casualty of life alongside you. It creates the space that only books can, where one can participate whilst in the solitude of their experience.”
