When NASA launched Voyager I and II in 1977 they included a special recording created by a committee of artists and scientists chaired by astronomer Carl Sagan. The Voyager Golden Record was their attempt at encapsulating Earth and its inhabitants through sounds of music and nature, human (and whale) languages, and over 100 encoded images.
While originally intended for any extraterrestrials the spacecrafts might come across, special vinyl copies of the original phonograph record are being made available for the first time through Kickstarter! See more images and information below.
