A couple years ago I wrote about Taylor Holland’s Fra[mes] project in which he digitally manipulated ornate frames from the Louvre. He since partnered with Sainthill Lijsten, who do restoration work and framing for large institutions like the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to create real versions of the absurd frames.
Here are six antique frames filled with repeated elements from the frames themselves, using custom molds built from the digital images. See the rest below.
