While Los Angeles-based photographer Angie Smith has shot for the likes of The New Yorker and New York Times, her latest project is for Boise, Idaho — specifically, the dozens of refugees who have resettled in the area.
The proposed project, Stronger Shines the Light Inside, is a large-scale, outdoor exhibition of the intimate portraits and life stories she’s documented during her time in Boise. Her hope is that the success of the project will allow her to take on other resettlement cities throughout the U.S. and continue to shed light on inspiring stories of integration.
